Jariiban International University offers a variety of scholarships designed to help you and your family pay for university. Scholarships and grants are types of gift aid that do not have to be repaid. They may take the form of University scholarships, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships.

JIU's Scholarships

Jariiban University offers scholarships to full–time registered students only who lack the financial resources in the pursuance of their studies.

Federal Grant Programs

Jariiban University encourages students to search for private scholarships offered by government agencies. Government scholarship grants is based on financial need and academic merit.

State Scholarships

Puntland State offers a variety of scholarships  to help you and your family pay for university. Bursaries are granted on merit, automatically renewed each year, subject to academic progression

Requirements

The cost of university education is a matter of concern for many students and their families. Regardless of your family’s financial circumstances, paying for university will probably require a substantial commitment of your resources over the next several years. It may surprise you to learn that most full-time undergraduate students at Jariiban University would not be able to pay their educational costs without financial assistance. These students are able to attend Jariiban University only because they applied for and received financial aid.

  • You are a full-time student.
  • You applied for financial aid on time.
  • You are meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
  • You have approximately the same amount of financial need that you had in prior years.

What Is Required During The JIU scholarship Application Process?

You will need the following to complete your JIU scholarship application:

  • Your own cellphone number and email address
  • Copy of your ID or birth certificate
  • ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse
  • Your proof of income or 1 year’s (if applicable)
  • Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income

Closing Date for Applications

The applications window is generally from August to November each year

Selection Process

In our selection process, we focus on your previous academic success, references and motivational statement.

Decision

We make our decision on who will receive a partial scholarship by these dates:

  • Decision date for spring semester: November 1
  • Decision date for autumn semester: April 15
